My wife is 17 weeks today, and we went to the specialist. This was a roller coaster of emotions. The visit started with "you know why Dr. Sacks sent you" with sadden eyes we replied " baby B doesn't have that much fluid". A long Hmmmmmm from our specialist Dr.Gary Cohen. After I feel a neglected and non informitive referral from our ob Dr.Sacks. We held each other for the rest of the news! After 10min in the extensive ultra sound, you have boys! We were so happy with joy! Then the "hmmmm"from Dr.Cohen "we have a problem there's No fluid around Baby B". We are going to send you to Miami to Dr.Quentero., Relief and anxious to know that there is a solution! Until Dr.Quentero is on vacation fro two weeks! We were devastated! Our insurance won't cover for us to go to California! Dr.Chmait's office explained that the only way because proper forms werent completed by Dr.Cohen or Dr.Sacks we were going to have to either pay $25,000, or lose my baby boys!!! So if someone doesnt have 25k laying around they will lose two lives! Whst is this world coming too! I'm outraged and sad! I wrote this to inform parents of twins! See your specialist early! We would have been able to schedule with UM to have it done here in Florida. But being that the referral to the specialist was delayed and I believe was not done so that we could "save money" as Dr.Sacks put it! I'm very upset we should gave been in the specialist the first time he mentioned " baby B looks like he doesn't have much fluid, and they couldn't see his bladder! So long story short we will be probably losing my two twin boys because of greed and heartless actions from an obgyn that has no business seeing a women carrying twins! Oh and his suggestion was thats a lot of money to spend for a result we are not sure, i would terminate! I hope that nobody else is put into this situation! I love my boys regardless of the outcome!
