The sound of having twins was exciting. The doctor pulled me in with my wife and broke the news. Twins were on the way. However the experience we had was a roller coaster of emotions.
TTTS is hard to diagnose. The measurements can fluctuate based on positions.
Our boys were never diagnosed as having TTTS until after they were born. It was called unequal placenta share. They were always concerned about the difference in size and we went every week to the specialists to make sure things were ok and twice a week to get a stress test.
They were shocked to find out their true size after they were delivered by emergency C-section.
Camden was 8lbs Fenway was 4lbs 2oz. Fenway came out white and was anemic and had a hard time getting blood drawn. Camden was purple and looked swollen.
Both are healthy.
My wife made it to the 34 week.
