My recipient twin was diagnosed w/ hydrocephalus on Monday. My MFM said we won't know definitively what caused it until they are born and tests are run, but said if he had to guess, it was due to trauma from the laser surgery. I had the laser surgery at 19 weeks, and am now 26weeks, 3 days. Why would it show up 7 weeks later? Also, I am inpatient right now for PPROM after surgery and get 2 ultrasounds per week. I had a sonogram the Thursday before and everything was supposedly fine then - how could it show up after only 4 days? My MFM did another u/s yesterday (his partner saw me Monday) and said it looked like 3 of the 4 ventricles in his brain were swollen - again why all of a sudden? I trust my MFM very much and know that we won't know much of anything until birth - but has anyone else had an experience like this?
